Lettuce Feast Food Truck Catches On Fire, Owners Start GoFundMe
The plant-based food truck lost one of their two food trucks this month. Now, they're trying to get back on their feet.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Lettuce Feast, a vegan food truck specializing in meatless fried "chick'n" sandwiches, is asking for the community's help after one of their two food trucks caught fire. The restaurant, which often makes stops in North Hollywood, announced their first truck was knocked out of commission on March 6, forcing them to shutter operations for a few days to regroup.
"Our first baby caught on fire unexpectedly," the owners wrote after the fire. "We just cannot catch a break this year so far. Please keep us in your prayers we are just 2 young black people who started this business with pennies to our name and a dream so this is absolutely devastating!"
A GoFundMe was launched to help owners Willie Perrymon and Eva Cannon purchase a new food truck, or set up shop at a permanent, physical location. The GoFundMe had brought in $44,927 as of March 22.

"All funds will be going to getting back up and running as soon as possible so our employees can keep their jobs at this unprecedented time," Cannon wrote. "As stated earlier we are usually not the type to ask for help but with so many things happening at once we are at our wits end about what to do. ANYTHING is helpful and we are so appreciative of your support."
