Man Killed, Shot in the Back in North Hollywood

The victim was in his 40s and died in the nighttime incident at Saticoy and Bellaire. Shots rang out after a fight and suspects fled.

A man in his 40s died after he was shot in the back in North Hollywood, a police sergeant said today.

It happened about 9:15 p.m. Sunday at Saticoy Street and Bellaire Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. C. Leon.

“Witnesses observed a fight in the street and then heard three gunshots,” Leon said.

Two to four men fled the scene, according to various witness accounts, she said. The vehicle was possibly a white Honda four-door sedan.

The victim was pronounced dead at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, Leon said.

“So far, we have no motive and we don’t know if it was gang-related,” she said.
