Man Struck By SUV on Golden State Freeway Near North Hollywood
A man suffered major injuries when he was struck by a black SUV while running in lanes of the Golden State (5) Freeway, the CHP says.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA -- A man suffered major injuries when he was struck by a black SUV while he was darting across lanes of the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley, authorities said Monday.
Witnesses told the California Highway Patrol that the man was walking across lanes from the right shoulder to the center divider Sunday night, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
The incident was reported at 9:29 p.m. on the northbound Golden State Freeway at Lankershim Boulevard, Kimball said.

It's possible that the man was trying to get to a homeless encampment near the freeway, Kimball said. He added that he man's condition was not available.
