Metro To Expand On-Demand Ride Service To North Hollywood
Rides will cost $1 for the first six months.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Metro plans to expand their new 'Metro Micro' ride sharing service to North Hollywood and Burbank, aiming to make it easier for neighborhood residents to get around. The program hopes to take cars off the road by offering an on-demand transit service, operated by Metro employees in cars that can hold up to 10 passengers (5 during the pandemic).
The program launches on Monday, January 25 and will run from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m., seven days a week. For the first six months, rides will cost $1 per ride, and must begin and end within the region marked below.

Metro Micro will replace Metro's Mobility on Demand program, which was already operating in the three zones.
"We're incredibly proud of the successful conclusion of our Mobility on Demand pilot project and excited that the lessons learned will be applied to continue to provide our riders new, high-quality mobility options," Metro CEO Phillip A. Washington said. "Metro Micro has taken up that mantle of innovation and experimentation and we expect even more success as we expand its footprint to better help our riders get around Los Angeles County for essential trips while reducing traffic."

Metro Micro first launched on December 13, servicing Watts/Willowbrook and LAX/Inglewood. Along with North Hollywood and Burbank, Metro Micro will expand to Compton/Artesia and El Monte.
"It's our job to provide Angelenos with affordable and accessible ways to move around our city and region," Los Angeles Mayor and Metro Board Chair Eric Garcetti previously said about the program. "Metro Micro will bring the convenience of ride-share technology at a fraction of the cost, which will mean less congestion on our streets, cleaner air and another way to get the most out of our transit systems."
The Metro Micro app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play.
