New CrossFit Gym to Open in Toluca Lake

CrossFit Training Yard will celebrate their grand opening on Sunday, Sept. 28 and invites the community to come check out the home of seven-time games competitor, Rebecca Voigt.

The grand opening will be held at CrossFit Training Yard on Sunday, starting at 8:30 a.m. There will be free community classes at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. with grand opening festivities continuing into the early afternoon.

CrossFit Training Yard will also have a special guest appearance by 2011 CrossFit Games champion Kris Clever. Everyone is invited to check out the gym, meet Rebecca, ask questions, and observe a free demo by Rebecca and Kris.

“I love competing in CrossFit, but my real passion is coaching others and helping them reach their personal fitness goals,” said Rebecca Voigt, owner and head coach, CrossFit Training Yard. “The overwhelming support from friends and family has turned hopes and dreams into a reality.”

Since 2007, the CrossFit Games have been held annually and Rebecca holds the record for the most Games appearances by any athlete, male or female. Her highest place finish was in 2011 where she made the podium in third place and her most esteemed accomplishment is winning the “Spirit of the Games” award in 2014 – an award given to an athlete who embodies the spirit of the sport. In addition, Rebecca has been featured on ESPN and ABC’s Nightline and is also a Reebok sponsored athlete who travels the world as a representative of CrossFit.

Besides her many accomplishments as a top-level CrossFit competitor, Rebecca is also an amazing and knowledgeable coach. She holds numerous certifications including, CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Nutrition Methodologies, USAW Sports Performance and Olympic Style Weightlifting. From kids to elite athletes and everyone in between, she as a passion for helping others reach their goals and the dedication to see them through.
