Two restaurants in North Hollywood have closed and re-opened so far this year. El Merengue shuttered for four days due to "no potable water supply or no hot water." Venetian Banquet Hall closed for two days due to a vermin infestation.

No restaurants have been closed in Toluca Lake during the first few months of the year; no eatery scored less than an A.
