North Hollywood Heat Advisory Extended Through Friday

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — The fall heat wave currently roasting North Hollywood will not let up until at least Friday, according to the National Weather Service. NWS extended its heat advisory for the area for another day as the scorching temperatures are expected to stick around.
Temperatures reached 100 degrees in North Hollywood on Tuesday. Highs of 104, 102 and 99 are expected over the rest of the week.
"Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur," the National Weather Service warned. "Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances."

Red flag warnings were not in place, since Santa Ana winds died down Tuesday.
Cooling centers are open throughout Los Angeles for residents who need a place to combat the heat. Space is limited to keep with social distancing guidelines, so residents are advised to call ahead before visiting a center.
