NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Perhaps the most anxiety-inducing Election Day in recent memory is here, and North Hollywood voters are heading to the polls. Along with selecting the next president and deciding various propositions, voters will select the local officials who will represent the community in the U.S. Congress and California State Assembly.

In Toluca Lake, the race between Nithya Raman and incumbent David Ryu for Council District 4 has drawn national attention. Bernie Sanders endorsed Raman back in October, while Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi have put their support behind Ryu.

Elsewhere, local voters are deciding whether incumbent Luz Maria Rivas will continue representing California State Assembly District 39, or if Republican Ricardo Benitez will replace her. Rivas took home 77.8% of votes in the March 3 primary, while Benitez received 22.2% of votes.
