North Hollywood YMCA Launches 'FeedLA' Program With Councilmember

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — City Council President Nury Martinez announced a new 'FeedLA' partnership with the YMCA to help address food insecurity in children across Los Angeles. Sixteen YMCA facilities will provide 1 million grab and go meals for kids 18 years or younger, and will also arrange contactless grocery pickup and meal delivery.

"Throughout this pandemic, our children have suffered tremendously in their development. The world around them changed in a blink of an eye," Martinez said. "As the chair of the Ad-Hoc Committee on COVID-19, I knew that with extra funding the YMCA-LA would be able to expand their great food program by 1 million meals and now will also be a learning hub where students can get extra tutoring so they don't fall behind in school."

Participating locations will also offer support for distance learning, including free WiFi for students to reach school or tutoring.

In NoHo, the East Valley YMCA at 5142 Tujunga Ave. will participate in the program. The full list of FeedLA hubs are below:
