Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Metrolink Train In North Hollywood

It's the second fatal collision involving a train in the San Fernando Valley in the past week.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metrolink train Tuesday morning, the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed. The collision happened around 6:43 a.m. at 7400 N Coldwater Canyon Ave. near Raymer St.

The age and gender of the victim weren't immediately known. Coldwater Canyon Avenue and the nearby train tracks were temporarily shut down in both directions at Raymer Avenue while police investigated the crash.

It's the second fatal collision involving Metrolink train in the San Fernando Valley in less than a week. On March 10, a 30-year-old woman was fatally struck near Van Nuys after apparently walking on the tracks. Paramedics arrived and attempted at resuscitate the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

LAFD issued a reminder asking residents to stay off the train tracks following Tuesday's fatal collision.

"Tragically, 2 people have lost their lives in train tracks in Los Angeles in the past couple of weeks," LAFD said. "Please stay off the tracks, and be alert!"
