Scattered Showers to Dry Up as Cool Temperatures Continue

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms were reported across the Los Angeles Basin today, with the strongest storm near Glendale, according to the National Weather Service.

A quarter-inch of rain and hail were reported in Pasadena and there was a report of pea-size hail at Sunset Boulevard and Figueroa Street outside downtown Los Angeles, according to the NWS.

A slight chance of thunderstorms into will continue into early evening, with forecasters saying any storms that develop could be capable of producing brief heavy downpours, small hail and gusty winds.

As showers develop this evening across the mountains, some locations could see 1- to 3-inch snow accumulations above 5,000 feet, with the highest amounts likely across the San Gabriel Mountains.

Another cool day across the region is forecast for Wednesday with a slight chance of showers on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday's forecast highs include 67 in downtown Los Angeles and Woodland Hills, 64 at Los Angeles International Airport, 66 in Long Beach and San Gabriel, 65 in Burbank and Pasadena, 64 in Lancaster and 62 in Palmdale.
