A large tree fell onto the southbound side of the Golden State (5) Freeway, closing all lanes.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A large fell onto the Golden State (5) Freeway near Griffith Park Thursday, shutting down all Southbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tree fell into the lanes near Colorado Boulevard. All lanes were expected to remain closed until about 10 p.m. The incident backed up traffic for miles, and commuters are advised to avoid the area.
Watch out guys for the 5 South freeway near the Colorado exit. Massive tree uprooted and crashed down on the highway hit a woman’s car in front of me. She’s really freaked out and hurt her wrist but seems to be okay. Stay away from the 5 for a while please. Cops are here. pic.twitter.com/YIf9BJx3It
