Suspect Arrested In North Hollywood Standoff

A SWAT Team surrounded a home in North Hollywood where a man allegedly threatened to kill his wife.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man was in custody Monday following a barricade in a North Hollywood residence.

Officers sent to the 4900 block of Denny Avenue about 7 p.m. Sunday learned that a woman had been "illegally locked out of her residence by her husband," a Los Angeles police statement said.

"While at the location ... officers were made aware that the man inside the house had threatened to kill the woman they were meeting with," police said. "Officers also learned the man (had) access to firearms inside the residence. The man refused to come outside and SWAT responded."

About 2:30 a.m. Monday, police fired tear gas into the residence, and the man surrendered about 4 a.m., police said. His name was not immediately released.
