The Valley Of Change To Host Clean Up In Philando Castile's Honor
The organization will end the month with another clean up effort to brighten the community.
SHERMAN OAKS, CA — The Valley of Change will hold a community cleanup and march in honor of Philando Castile, a Black man who was killed by police in 2016. Castile was fatally shot during a routine traffic stop in Minneapolis, while the officer who pulled the trigger was acquitted of all charges in 2017.
The cleanup will start at the corner of the Galleria Mall at Sepulveda Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard at 8:30 a.m. Prospective congresswoman Aarika Rhodes, who is planning to run in 2022, will co-sponsor the event.
"Looking for ways to help your local community this weekend" the Valley of Change asked. "We’ve got you covered! Join us as we clean up Sherman Oaks and end the morning with a March in honor of brother Philando Castile."
