Vin Scully, Legendary Dodger Broadcaster, Hospitalized

Vin Scully, the 92-year-old Dodger Broadcaster, was injured in a fall at his home, and he said he plans to retire from headfirst sliding.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Vin Scully, the legendary Dodger broadcaster, remains hospitalized Thursday after suffering a fall in his home. The 92-year-old voice of baseball was characteristically plucky about the incident.

"I won't be doing anymore headfirst sliding. I never liked it," he said in a statement released by the Dodgers.

According to the Dodgers Scully fell in his home Tuesday afternoon.

"He is hospitalized and resting comfortably," the team announced.

The extent of his injuries was not disclosed.

Scully retired in 2016 after 67 seasons as the the Dodgers' broadcaster.
