Watch Adorable Tot Offer To Kiss Dodgers Star's Booboo

When Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner broke his wrist during Monday's game, 2-year-old Declan Riddle knew just how to fix it.

LOS ANGELES, CA — When All-Star third baseman Justin Turner, the hero of the Dodgers postseason run, broke his wrist in Monday’s preseason game against the A’s, it didn’t seem like he had much to smile about.

But a 2-year-old fan figured out how to turn Turner’s pained grimace into a grin. Clad in his fire truck jammies and Dodgers cap, Declan Riddle insisted on helping the one sure-fire way he knew to make an ouchie better.

“Justin Turner got hurt - I have to kiss his booboo,” the toddler told his dad with the cellphone camera rolling.

Sure enough, it helped. When Andrew Riddle posted his tot’s touching video to Twitter, Justin Turner saw it.

“My 2 year old was very concerned about your injury before bed time. Hope to see you back on the field sooner rather than later,” Riddle tweeted to Turner.

“Thank you for this!!! Brought a smile to my face,” replied Turner. “I’ll be back in no time lil buddy! How about a couple of tickets for my first game back?”

The adorable fan’s well-wishes may not have cured Turner, but they definitely didn’t hurt. The third-baseman announced Tuesday he would not have to undergo surgery as previously feared.

Turner will, however, start the season on the disabled list.

"I know J.T.'s down, it's a blow, a guy you count on every day," Manager Dave Roberts Told MLB.com. "It's tough, but that's baseball and we have a lot of good players and guys have to step up."

Turner, known for crowding the plate, was hit with 19 pitches last year — more than any of his teammates.

"It's baseball," Turner told MLB.com. "Stuff happens. I'm going to do everything I can to get back as fast as I can. In the meantime, there's a lot of good baseball players in here, I don't think we'll miss a beat."
