Whitsett Slope Tree Planting; Beautification Grant Announcement on Monday

Councilman Paul Krekorian will help with a tree planting in North Hollywood on Martin Luther King Jr. Day this Monday and announce an $80,000 beautification grant for neighborhood councils in his district.

The tree planting is taking place at the Whitsett Slope, which got a touch-up from the community last year, in the North Hollywood West Neighborhood Council area.

Krekorian is also unveiling an $80,000 grant for local councils that are looking for "infrastructure projects that enhance, strengthen and beautify the neighborhood."

The Greater Valley Glen, Mid-Town North Hollywood, North Hollywood Northeast, North Hollywood West, Studio City, Sun Valley, Valley Village and Van Nuys neighborhood councils are invited to apply for up to $10,000 each.

The tree planting will take place Monday at 11 a.m. along the Whitsett Slope Hillside in North Hollywood. Parking is across the street, at 12544 Saticoy St., North Hollywood.
