Big Day for Numbers Geeks: 12-12-12

If you don't love the number 12 today, you're a zero.

This is a historic day — 12/12/12. It's a special occasion. There won't be another uber-geeky number day like this for a long time now. Although we have a 13th hour, we don't have a 13th month.

What are you going to do today at 12 seconds after 12:12 p.m.? Take 12 seconds to really think about it and plan something special. Even if it's after 12:12 p.m., do something special because the next repeating date will be Jan. 1, 2101. It's not like you can wait until the next one.

Could it be the Anti-Doomsday, a day of reckoning? Maybe so. That wouldn't bode well for the hundreds of brides and grooms who have flocked to Las Vegas.

There have been dozens (!) of really cool dates like this in the past. Dick Steinbach of Novato has celebrated many of them with friends he called the Numbers Nuts. Last year they went to see the Follies in Palm Springs and had a toast at 11:11 p.m. This year they spent the day in San Francisco and Sausalito (see photos).
