Crash, Downed Power Lines Leave Hundreds Without Power In Novato

Police said they expect Nave Drive to remain closed between Roblar Drive and Hamilton Parkway in Novato for most of the day.

NOVATO, CA — A car crash left hundreds of Pacific Gas & Electric customers without power early Sunday morning in Novato.

Shortly after 4 a.m., the Novato Police Department asked drivers to avoid the 5800 block of Nave Drive, which is in a commercial area just off Highway 101.

A spokesman for PG&E said that crews were at the scene working to safely restore power, but as of 6 a.m., there was no estimate for when the lights would come back on.

Police said they expect Nave Drive to remain closed between Roblar Drive and Hamilton Parkway for most of the day while PG&E crews repair a downed utility pole. Authorities advised the public to avoid the area.
