Coroner ID's Man Killed in Crash Near Novato

The Marin County coroner’s office has identified the victim of a solo vehicle crash near Novato Sunday morning as 47-year-old Niles Simpson, of Sonoma County.

Novato police and firefighters responded to the crash in the 800 block of Atherton Avenue east of U.S. Highway 101 around 8:30 a.m.

Simpson, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was found dead inside the car that ran off the road and collided with a tree, Novato police said.

Simpson was not married and had no children, the coroner’s office said.
