Red Flag Warning Issued For Much Of NorCal: NWS
Fire weather conditions are expected to return this week, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning.

BAY AREA, CA — Strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures will continue in the San Francisco Bay Area this week, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning for much of the region.

The red flag warning will be in effect from 5 a.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday for the East and North Bay hills and valleys, and from 5 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday for the Santa Cruz mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning for extreme fire danger was issued early Tuesday as a dry and windy weather system is forecast for the region.
A wind advisory will also be in effect from 6 a.m. Wednesday until 3 p.m. Thursday for the East and North Bay hills. Strong and gusty north to northeast winds are expected in the area, with the strongest winds forecast Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Daytime minimum humidity values are expected to drop into the teens on Wednesday and possibly to the single digits by Thursday. Nighttime humidity recoveries will be very poor, according to the National Weather Service, especially on Wednesday night.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly, weather officials warned.
