Diwali Festival Celebrates Light, Hope

Diwali (pronounced Dee-pavali) is an ancient Indian festival celebrating the victory of light, hope and the triumph of goodness over evil and injustice. The belief is that when followers ignite a light, it sends a message to themselves and the rest of the world, dispelling darkness and negativity.

On Saturday, Novato's Anubhuti Retreat Center is celebrating Diwaili with an evening of meditation, music, Indian dance, video images, a candle lighting ceremony, an inspirational talk, and a vegetarian dinner following the program (around 8:15 pm). The event is free. Registration required.
