Hailey Ratliff Memorial Walk

Driven by compassion, a few local moms have set up a memorial walk Sunday morning to honor Hailey Ratliff, the 12-year-old Novato girl who was killed Sept. 27 while biking across a street on a ride home from school.

Children are invited to make signs as a tribute to Hailey and join the march from San Marin High School to the corner of Grant Avenue and Novato Boulevard. The gathering begins at 8:30 a.m. in the San Marin parking lot at the corner of San Marin Drive and Novato Boulevard, and the walk will begin at 9 a.m.

Hicks said the owners of a vacant building, a former veterinary hospital across from Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, are allowing the group to use the property as a stopping point for refreshments, T-shirt sales and donation collection for the Hailey Ratliff Memorial Fund.
