Flash Flood Watch In Effect For North Bay
Heavy rains expected Tuesday prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood watch for parts of the North Bay, including Marin.
NORTH BAY, CA — Heavy rains expected Tuesday prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood watch for parts of the North Bay, including Marin County.
The flash flood watch is in effect from 2-10 p.m. for the North Bay valleys and mountains, including Marin. The primary area of concern is the Kincade Fire burn area as well as locations immediately downstream in northern Sonoma County, according to the NWS.
"A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding," weather officials said. "Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued."

As a lot of people may hit the roads for the #thanksgiving holiday; be sure to allow extra time and space on the roads due to the rain. Roadways can be slick, especially for the first rain of the season. #CAwx pic.twitter.com/zaL4mLyxuB

With rain arriving in Marin County: - Headlights on when wipers on - Reduce speeds to avoid repair bill when you crash - Highway 101 is not a raceway, especially when wet Vehicle Code still applies when it is raining. Please drive safe! @CHPMarin pic.twitter.com/bnOqYT58Eu
