In September 2020, while addressing the City’s $5.7 million deficit, the Novato City Council made the difficult decision to approve over $3.5 million in budget cuts, including reductions to both services to the community and staffing levels. Even with these decisions, the ongoing deficit is projected to be $2.1 million this fiscal year.

With the social and economic impacts of COVID-19 on our community, your feedback during the City’s annual budget planning is more important than ever. Please take our brief survey to let us know how we can better engage you and what you would like to see as part of this year’s budget process at novato.org/opennovato. Survey closes on Friday, March 5 at 5pm.
