Marin Cty Returns To Weekday Coronavirus Updates As Surge Recedes
The county reported an additional 36 cases of the COVID-19 virus on Thursday.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County's coronavirus updates will only come out on weekdays starting on Thursday, the county announced this week. The return from seven weekly updates to five coincides with a reduction in new coronavirus cases.
Since November, the county has offered coronavirus updates throughout the week, including on Saturdays and Sundays.
Now, as new case rates recede, the county will only provide updates between Monday and Friday of each week. The change applies to both status updates and updates to the county's data and surveillance webpage.

An additional 36 confirmed cases of the virus were reported in Marin County on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases up to 10,898. No new deaths were reported on Thursday, but an additional two people were hospitalized, according to county data.
An additional 1,540 residents were vaccinated against the virus on Thursday, bringing the county’s total of vaccinated residents to 53,066, data shows. As it stands, 20.3 percent of the county’s residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

As of Wednesday, the county is now offering vaccinations to Phase 1a workers including health care workers and long-term care facility residents, along with residents over the age of 65.
Vaccines are also available to Marin County residents who work in education, childcare, food service, agriculture and emergency services.
Vaccination appointments are available through Marin County Public Health, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, MarinHealth Medical Network, Costco, CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Safeway and Walgreens.
Outside of Marin County, appointments can be made with FEMA & Cal OES / Other Counties (MyTurn System) and the Veterans Administration.
