Mayor’s Monthly - August

Novato's Mayor Eric Lucan shares city news, events and meetings on the horizon, and on occasion a few spontaneous thoughts.

On my Mind (a few random thoughts)

This weekend will be Out of this World when the Novato Space Festival lands on Pacheco Plaza this Sunday, August 4th at 10AM. Since this year is the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11, you can expect the festival to be bigger and better than ever before. Ken Winans & Debbie Wreyford, founders of the Space Station Museum, have lined up some legendary astronauts alongside their museum’s exhibits and numerous space organizations exhibits and activities! Ken & Debbie were also the honorary Grand Marshals for Novato’s 4th of July Parade last month.

The entire community is invited to the FREE family event on Sunday. You can learn more and get all the info at http://thenovatospacefestival.org.

Revenue Options
Council took a first look at some revenue options during our last council meeting and we will continue the conversation at August’s meeting.

Minimum Wage
Council will also follow-up on our conversation to possibly accelerate an increase to minimum wage that phases in faster than the increases already set to take place by the State of California.
