Hybrid vehicles such as the Toyota Prius that have two power sources are among the most often targeted for catalytic converter theft, police said.

The height of these vehicles also makes it relatively easy for thieves to access exhaust systems located underneath vehicles.

“Thieves look for easy targets when it comes to catalytic converter theft as they are looking for a quick removal,” police said in a statement.
