Novato DUI Crash Leads To Multiple Arrests

Officers responded Tuesday at around 8:10 p.m. to a report of a traffic accident on Vintage Way behind Costco, police said.

NOVATO, CA — A DUI crash near the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center Tuesday night involved a stolen vehicle and led to multiple arrests, police said.

Officers responded at around 8:10 p.m. to a report of a traffic accident on Vintage Way behind Costco, police said.

The driver, later identified as Julio Navarette, 38, ran from the scene southbound toward Hannah Ranch according to police.

One of the passengers in the vehicle, 24-year-old Llana Summers, was detained on suspicion of having an outstanding warrant according to police.

Another passenger, who is 30, was hospitalized with moderate injuries, police said.

Officers located Navarette at around 8:40 p.m., police said.

The vehicle Navarette crashed had been reported stolen according to police.
Prior to the crash, Summers had been asked to leave a Novato BevMo! Store after trying to steal wine.

Navarette was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, DUI causing an injury, hit and run causing an injury and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Summers was arrested on suspicion of having an outstanding warrant.

Both suspects were booked into Marin County Jail.
