Novato High Schools Ready For Expanded Reopening

Novato, San Marin and Marin Oaks high schools will welcome juniors and seniors back to campus Monday, officials said.

NOVATO, CA — Novato’s three public high schools will welcome juniors and seniors back to campus for limited in-person learning next week, officials said.

The Novato Union School District’s “Flexible In-Person” learning program began Monday with the three high schools welcoming ninth and tenth graders back to campus.

The schools had been shuttered for nearly a year amid the pandemic.

The reopening followed state guidelines with Marin County moving to the red tier of the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, NUSD officials said.

Under the NUSD’s Flexible In-Person program, seventh and eighth grader returned to campus on Feb. 22. TK-6 students started returning to campus on Oct. 26 of last year.

“We’re really excited to see our high school students return,” Superintendent Kris Cosca said in a statement.

“Nearly one year ago, March 13, 2020, was the last day our students were on campus. We really look forward to seeing our juniors and seniors return to campus next week and having all of our TK-12 Flexible In-Person students attending school on campus during the week.”
