Novato Theater Company Presents ‘The Last Five Years’

The musical premiered in Chicago in 2001 and was adapted as a film in 2014.

NOVATO, CA — The Novato Theater Company next month will present Jason Robert Brown’s musical “The Last Five Years.”

The musical premiered in Chicago in 2001 and was adapted as a film in 2014.

The play depicts a relationship between two young professionals in New York City who attempt to balance their relationship and careers that ultimately collide over the five-year period chronicled.

“The Last Five Years” features Robert Nelson and Amanda Morando Nelson (no relation) in the leading roles as Jamie and Cathy and is directed by Carl Jordan, reprising their 2018 production with Marin Onstage at The Belrose in San Rafael.

The show will be streamed live from the NTC for three performances and will also be available on demand.

The three scheduled performances will June 4 and June 5 (both at 7 p.m.) and June 6 at 2 p.m.

It will be available for on-demand viewing June 7-13.

The show will be streamed on ShowTix4U only because it is a licensed production.
