Leah Coale, a graduating senior at San Marin High School, has been awarded a $2,500 P.E.O. STAR Scholarship. This highly competitive scholarship is awarded to exceptional graduating women across the U.S. and Canada who will be attending college in next academic year.

Leah was sponsored for the STAR award by California P.E.O. Chapter SS in Novato. “Leah was such an outstanding nominee we were proud to support her,” said Pam McCart, who spearheaded the nomination for the chapter. “We were impressed by her academic performance, her community volunteer work and leadership, and her positive attitude and determination. She will go far.”

Leah will enroll at Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga this fall, where she will pursue her interest in health sciences. At San Marin she participated in the school’s demanding biotechnology program, and she was on the Principal’s Honor Roll every year. She made time for internships at Novato Community Hospital and at the Marin Humane Society, where she was honored as 2017 Youth of the Year. Leah plans to study Biology at Saint Mary’s.
