SMART Cancels Selected Weekday Train Trips Due To Coronavirus​

After canceling weekend service​, ​Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit​ canceled some weekday train trips​ in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

NORTH BAY, CA — A day after canceling weekend train service, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit also canceled selected weekday train trips in response to the new coronavirus pandemic and shelter-in-place orders for Marin and Sonoma counties.

The district has temporarily canceled the following train trips:

  • Southbound 7:10 a.m. out of the Sonoma County Airport station
  • Northbound 8:46 a.m. out of the Larkspur station
  • Southbound 4:29 p.m. out of the Sonoma County Airport station
  • Northbound 6:05 p.m. out of the Larkspur station

The schedule change is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice, SMART officials announced Tuesday evening. The adjusted weekday schedule was based on ridership demand. These trips were temporarily canceled to minimize impacts to the overall schedule.

On Monday, SMART canceled weekend train service through at least April 5.

"SMART is committed to providing an essential public transit service for the North Bay, with the health and safety of the community and SMART staff as our top priority. "
