SMART Hires New Chief Financial Officer
Heather McKillop will oversee SMART's financial management, including day-to-day accounting, budget, payroll and financial management.

NORTH BAY, CA— Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit has hired a new chief financial officer.
As the district's new CFO, Heather McKillop will oversee SMART's financial management, including day-to-day accounting, budget, payroll and financial management.
Prior to joining SMART, McKillop was the chief financial officer and assistant general manager of finance and administration for the Regional Transportation District in Denver, Colorado. She has also served as deputy executive director of the Colorado Department of Revenue.

"This is a fantastic hire for SMART," said Eric Lucan, chair of the SMART Board of Directors. "Ms. McKillop brings a wealth of financial management experience from within the rail transportation industry and state government."
"Her extensive skills include both day-to-day fiscal management, as well as the strategic financial planning acumen needed to lead SMART's financial future," vice chair Barbara Pahre added. "SMART will be in great financial hands when our current CFO hands SMART's finances over."

SMART's current CFO Erin McGrath, who has been with SMART for almost a decade, announced over the summer that she would be leaving SMART at the end of her current contract to spend more time with her family and pursue other opportunities.
