SMART Offers Free Train Rides During Thanksgiving Weekend​

The free service is being offered mainly to help residents displaced by the Kincade Fire but anyone can ride.

NORTH BAY, CA — Free train service is being offered from Thanksgiving through Sunday on Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District trains, SMART officials said Wednesday.

The free service is being offered mainly to help residents displaced by the Kincade Fire but anyone can ride. SMART trains will run on a weekend/holiday schedule Thanksgiving Day and Friday.

The first southbound train will leave the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport station at 10:13 a.m. and the last northbound train will depart the San Rafael station at 8:50 p.m.

SMART trains stop at 10 locations in Sonoma and Marin counties and new stations in downtown Novato and Larkspur are expected to open in December.
