Testing Completed For SMART's Novato Downtown Station

SMART plans to open the Novato Downtown and Larkspur stations by the end of the year.

NOVATO, CA — The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit agency has completed testing for the new Novato Downtown station. Testing was completed over the weekend for the new station at Grant and Railroad avenues.

The railroad crossings at the Franklin Avenue pedestrian pathway, as well as Grant Avenue, Olive Avenue, Golden Gate Place and Rush Creek Place passed all required tests, SMART officials said. Additionally, SMART's Positive Train Control system passed all required tests.

SMART plans to open the Novato Downtown and Larkspur stations by the end of the year.
