
On Friday, the Marinwood community Services District is holding a Winter Fest for local families, including photos with Santa, live music, arts and crafts, holiday treats, face painting and more. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Food, beer and wine are also available for purchase.
Also on Friday, Hopmonk is hosting three local musicians for a night of music and friends. The first is Andi White, who together with group Six Hits Later, play instrumental tunes filled with husky jazz vocals, that will take you back to a 30s-era lounge.
The evening also features Joanne Rand, who has played with Bonnie Raitt, Bob Weir and John Hartford and whose band has been named “Best Acoustic Band” by the Bohemian newspaper. Rounding out the trio is Lauren Murphy, best known for her work with Lansdale Station which she established with her husband Judge Murphy (ZERO).

Murphy serves up music that is simultaneously brassy, sensitive, and powerful and has been compared to Emmy Lou Harris. Starts 8pm. 21 and over. $12 at the door.
Saturday marks the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. To celebrate, the Corte Madera Recreation Center is holding an evening of music and ritual where participants will be invited to spin the wheel to release the past year and bring hopes for a new one. On Sunday, join Green Boot, a local hiking and walking club for 6-mile holiday hike through the Marin County Loma Alta and Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Open Space Preserves in Lucas Valley.
