Argument Escalates To Stabbing At Pacifica Beach; Man Arrested

The 29-year-old victim suffered serious injuries while trying to break up a fight in the Labor Day weekend attack, police said.

PACIFICA, CA — A 27-year-old Pacifica man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly stabbing another male who was attempting to break up a heated argument at Pacifica State Beach, according to authorities.

Officers and paramedics were called Saturday shortly after midnight to the 5400 block of Cabrillo Highway, where a man was stabbed following a dispute at the beach's south end, the Pacifica Police Department said.

The victim, 29, was treated by medics at the scene and taken to an area trauma center for injuries deemed serious, but not life-threatening, police said.

Witnesses at the beach, where a group had gathered, told police the stabbing suspect was local resident Sebastian Kibblewhite, who ran from the scene, officers said.

The victim was stabbed with a knife while trying to separate two individuals involved in an escalating argument, the department said.

Following an investigation, Kibblewhite was located, arrested and booked at the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
