Elderly Asian Woman Robbed In Daly City, Video Shows: Reports
Video of the incident, that reportedly occurred Thursday, shows a woman being shoved to the ground and then robbed by an attacker.

DALY CITY, CA — A 69-year-old Asian woman was the victim of a strong arm robbery in Daly City on Thursday afternoon, according to several reports. The attack is the latest in a number of recent crimes committed against Asians in the Bay Area and around the country.
Video has circulated on Nextdoor and on social media of the incident, which reportedly occurred on Serravista Avenue near Norwood Avenue.

According to KPIX, the attack happened around 3:40 p.m. and police are investigating the robbery.

The video shows a woman walking down Serravista Avenue in a residential neighborhood off Highway 280. The suspect, wearing dark clothing, sprints up to her from behind, drags her to the ground and then appears to takes her property before running away.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a rise in hate crimes targeting Asians, including several documented attacks against Asian elders in the Bay Area in recent weeks. The Stop AAPI Hate organization has reported over 3,700 incidents of anti-Asian hate in the country since the pandemic began.
