High Winds Batter San Mateo Coast
A downed branch blocked a residential street in Half Moon Bay, Cal Fire said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – High winds toppled heavy branches in San Mateo County as high winds swept through the Bay Area Sunday night and into Monday morning, Cal Fire said.

Strong and critically dry winds are forecast to persist throughout the Bay Area through Monday, with critical fire weather expected through Monday morning, the National Weather Service said.
Winds in the Bay Area will average 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph in most areas, and high in the North and East Bay hills.

Highs across the Bay Area will be in the 70s, before cooling to the high 40s to mid 50s at night. A Red Flag Warning and Wind Advisory remain in the effect through midday Monday.
The rest of the week will remain dry, though warm and sunny days are expected Tuesday through Friday.
