​Loaded Firearm Found In Vehicle During Pacifica Traffic Stop

A patrol officer discovered a loaded handgun with a high capacity magazine under the driver's seat during a traffic stop, police said.

PACIFICA, CA — A traffic stop in Pacifica early Saturday morning led to the arrest of an East Bay man on illegal weapon possession charges, police said.

A patrol officer discovered a loaded handgun with a high capacity magazine under the driver’s seat after pulling over a motorist for an alleged code violation at around 2 a.m. on State Route 1 and Rockaway Beach Avenue, Pacifica Police Department Capt. Chris Clements said in a news release.

Christopher Granados, 24 of Oakland, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of a high capacity magazine and driving with a suspended license, Clements said.

Granados was booked into San Mateo County jail.
