Most San Mateo County CZU Fire Evacuation Orders Lifted

Most roadblocks were lifted too as favorable weather conditions overnight helped firefighters contain the blaze.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Evacuation orders have been lifted for most southern San Mateo County coastal residents impacted by the CZU Lightning Complex fire, Cal Fire announced Thursday.

The evacuation orders were lifted at noon on Thursday.

The county said evacuees should check its online database to determine if their home is now accessible before reentering the area.

The CZU blaze had burned through 81,333 in acres in San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties and was 21 percent contained as of 7 a.m. on Thursday according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire said low overnight winds and increased humidity helped firefighters contain the blaze.

Evacuation orders have been lifted at the following locations at noon on Thursday:

1. Pescadero Beach area (ZONE: SMC- E073)

2. Pescadero Creek County Park area (ZONE: SMC – E075)

3. Pescadero area (ZONE: SMC – E043)

4. San Gregorio area (ZONE: SMC – E022)

5. La Honda area (ZONE: SMC – E028)

6. Langley Hill and Red Barn area (ZONE: SMC – E010)

7. Russian Ridge Open Space area (ZONE: SMC – E027)

8. Skylonda (ZONE: SMC- E012)

9. Portola Redwoods State Park, Portola Heights (SMC E-048)

10. Middleton Tract (ZONE: SMC- E044)

Roadblocks were lifted at the following locations at noon on Thursday:

1. Highway 1 at Gazos Creek Road

2. Cloverdale Road at Butano Cutoff

3. Pescadero Creek Road at Butano Cutoff

4. Pescadero Creek Road at Burns Valley Road
