Mountain Lion Outside Pacifica Home Captured on Video: Report

PACIFICA, CA – A Pacifica man who just installed a new video surveillance camera in front of his home got an early wakeup call over the weekend.

The 3 a.m. Saturday alert turned out to be a mountain lion, ABC7 reports.
Mike Watkins told the television station he didn’t realize the surveillance camera picked up a big cat until he reviewed the footage later that day.

The animal is seen pacing around the steps of Watkins' Fairmont neighborhood home before hopping over a fence.
"At first glance, scrolling, I saw an animal. Possibly a cat or raccoon. Then checked again, and saw this long tail," he said. "I noticed it was a lot bigger."

He told ABC7 he’d just installed the surveillance camera about a week ago.
