Outdoor Venue for Coastside Dance School's "Dance-A-Latte"

Sidewalk Stage Suffices Superbly

On Saturday morning, we heard a crowd cheering down the street, so I went from jammies to street clothes in 2 minutes, grabbed my camera, and checked it out. I had hoped to maybe get a plug in with the local paper, but it was a case of bad timing for a story this week. Instead, I am sharing it on here, because I was inspired at how these dance recitals were performed so beautifully on an unused part of the sidewalk, since indoor performances are not safely possible right now. This was part of the Coastside Dance School's "Dance-A-Latte", hosted by Intertwine Cafe.

The dancer's costumes were top-notch, and dance moves were carefully executed. Performers ranged in age between 3-12 & up. All dancers and spectators wore masks.

One of the most important qualities of survival is adaptability. Throughout the past year, we have been tested in so many ways. Flexibility is important in dancing - and in life - especially during a pandemic! If you own a business, being able to improvise during this time is a necessity, if you want to stay open. Roxanne (instructor) and her students gave their all, and it was a joy to behold. Classy, too, of Intertwine Cafe to host it, proving that with community support, we can survive and thrive, in even the most challenging of times.
