Pacifica Co-Op Preschool Children Pedal for Dollars
The non-profit Pacifica Co-Op Preschool held a Trike-a-thon fundraiser this fall to raise money for new tricycles.
On the last Saturday in October, a rainbow unicorn, Elena of Avalor, Lego Batman and many other famous characters gathered at the starting line for the Pacifica Co-Op Nursery School Trike-A-Thon.
Then Head of School Teacher Catherine shouted “Go!” and they were off!
Decked out in Halloween costumes, the children pedaled—some fast, some cautiously, and some cycled right off the track and were kindly guided back on course by event staff, i.e., the parents and teachers who organized the event which took place at Ocean Shore Elementary School.

The preschoolers rode tricycles or bikes with training wheels, and a few brave souls pedaled on just two wheels. Many were decked out with streamers and stickers for the big event.
Friends and family who pledged dollars toward improving the Co-Op, which is a 501(c)(3) non profit, helped the preschool buy new tricycles this year.

After the all that pedaling, everyone was ready to sample delicious snacks and treats and fuel up for fun and games. Co-Op parents and teachers manned booths and kids enjoyed face painting, pumpkin bowling, a noodle toss and more at carnival-style celebration.
“Everyone really came together to make this event run smoothly and successfully,” said Co-Op member Amanda Sandberg, who chaired the event. “The Co-Op community is a very special place and it especially shows during events like this.”
Stay tuned for the preschool’s spring fundraiser, Rainbowfest! Mark your calendars for March 25.
