Pacifica Residents To 'March For Our Lives'

PACIFICA, CA — Millions of people across the U.S. and abroad are planning to take part Saturday, March 24 in more than 800 marches and rallies to protest gun violence. There are four Peninsula-area events scheduled — one of them in Pacifica — according to the latest registration information.

March For Our Lives comes just 10 days after students across the country walked out of class as part of a nationwide effort to protest gun violence and push lawmakers to strengthen gun control laws. The walkout took place on the one-month anniversary of the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

Here is what you need to know about the local events scheduled for Saturday:

Redwood City March For Our Lives Rally

Time and location: 1 p.m. at Courthouse Square, 2200 Broadway, Redwood City, CA

Organizers said: "The Peninsula will be rallying for our lives on Courthouse Square in Redwood City. Bring your signs, your passion, and your voice and rally with us."

'March For Our Lives' Planned In Burlingame

Organizer said: Stand up for gun control!

March For Our Lives San Mateo

Time and location: 12:00 p.m. at 2720 Alameda de las Pulgas, San Mateo, CA 94403

Organizers said: Come join us on March 24th at Beresford Park in San Mateo for a rally in support of the March For Our Lives Movement. From there we will be marching to the Caltrain Station and taking that to the Bart station in Millbrae which will take us to San Fransisco. Once in San Fransisco we will be marching to the Civic Center Plaza to join the bigger march. Spread the word and let's all march for school safety! Organizers said: Pacifica March for Our Lives is another opportunity for Pacifica and our surrounding communities to come together in unity, in strength, in our commitment to progress, and commitment to our young people that we must do better for their safety and this day we will begin to figure out what we can do.. together.
