Peninsula Afternoon House Fire Displaces Five

Five residents escaped unharmed but were left displaced by a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Daly City.

DALY CITY, CA — Five residents escaped unharmed but were left displaced by a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Daly City, the North County Fire Authority said.

Units saw smoke coming the roof vents when they arrived shortly after 3 p.m. to the two-story single-family home at 224 Second Ave.

The home was full of smoke with flames coming from the kitchen, officials said.

Chainsaws were used on the roof to ventilate the house and the fire was contained to the kitchen and the attic, with the smoke damage throughout the home.

There were no injuries reported and the American Red Cross helped the residents with housing arrangements.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
