Tigersharks Cheerleaders Hold Thanksfest Fundraiser to Help Pay for Trip to Nationals

The Pacifica Tigersharks Cheer teams held the Second Annual Thanksfest on Saturday, November 29 to raise funds for their upcoming trip to the Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Nationals in Orlando, Florida.

The Jr. Pee Wee and Jr. Midget teams earned the trip to Nationals by taking 1st and 2nd place, respectively, at the Regional qualifier on November 28. The teams performed incredibly challenging routines full of basket tosses, reloads, full liberty pyramids, tumbling passes, one-leg stunts, and extremely exciting, fast-paced dance routines. Both the Jr. Pee Wee and Jr. Midget teams are advancing to the National Championships based on their strong performances.

The Thanksfest event, which ran from 12-7, featured bounce houses, a climbing rock wall, zorbs for the kids, live music, a silent auction, and delicious food from Devil’s Slide Taproom for the adults. The Truth also donated tattooing services. Both cheer squads performed to the delight of the crowd. The girls also sold baked goods and candy leis.

Thanksfest was the team’s largest fundraiser this season. We want to give a big Thank You to the sponsors that made it happen: The Truth, Fresh and Easy, ClimbOn, Cal Jumps and Devil’s Slide Taproom.

So far, with the generous donations of our local businesses and the community as a whole, the girls have raised over half of the funds necessary to pay for the trip. We are still accepting donations. Thereare several ways the community can donate if they would like:
