Jefferson Avenue was closed between Avenue 48 and Highway 111 in La Quinta for an unspecified time period.

LA QUINTA, CA — A fatal deputy-involved shooting Friday in La Quinta has been confirmed by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The agency posted a message on Twitter around 3 p.m. that said the shooting took place on Jefferson Avenue at Avenue 48. One suspect was killed.
No deputies or community members were injured in the incident.
