PALM SPRINGS, CA — Police are investigating a mysterious shooting in Palm Springs that occurred late Tuesday night. No victims or suspects have been identified, and investigators are asking potential witnesses to come forward.

Palm Springs Police Department officers responded to reports of gunshots just after 11 p.m. Tuesday on the 1500 block of East San Rafael Drive. No one was hurt in the shooting, according to police.

Officers spoke to a woman who claims she "saw the gunshots coming from a white car" as she drove the same street.

"Maybe it’s time for a PSPD substation up here," one commenter suggested. "I’m up at the Villas, and it used to be quiet and relatively safe."

The woman wrote that she now feels the area is "dangerous" and is looking to relocate. While the department acknowledged a substation is a good suggestion, police officials noted that officers spend more time patrolling than manning substations.

Meanwhile, the search for more information continues. The Palm Springs Police Department Detective Escallada encourages anyone who witnessed the incident to call 760-323-8129.

Anonymous information can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.
